As San Diego LGBT Pride gears up there are several official Pride events leading up to and occurring during Pride weekend, July 20-22. San Diego LGBT Pride has given over 1.4 million dollars to local LGBT community organizations and causes, and these official parties are the only ones that generate revenue for Pride’s philanthropy.

“For years, private, for-profit party promoters have taken advantage of the San Diego Pride name to make money off our community.  This year we want to make sure folks know about and attend those fun events and parties, which help non-profit causes in our community,” said Dwayne Crenshaw, executive director of San Diego LGBT Pride.  “By supporting these events, you can party with a purpose!”
